Uber Pet and Taxi Animalier Paris: a side-by-side comparison
Both services let you travel with a pet, but price should not be your only consideration. When you need to arrive at a specific time, check the space available and the pick-up arrangements before setting off. Your dog’s size, pet carrier and luggage should all be taken into account when booking.

Uber Pet: an option for a flexible journey
For a straightforward journey with no appointment or connection to catch, Uber Pet may be an economical option if the fare suits your budget and a vehicle is available. You then have some flexibility to delay your departure or find another option if needed.
Choosing a pet-friendly option does not remove the need to check that the vehicle suits your situation. Mention your dog’s size, carrier and luggage before pick-up. Check the Uber Pet conditions for your trip.
Need to arrive on time? Plan your transport.
For a vet appointment, a train or a flight, a setback can have serious consequences. We recommend booking with Taxi Animalier Paris: we discuss your requirements beforehand so we can confirm suitable arrangements for your journey.
A pet taxi you can travel in too
The term “pet taxi” can be confusing. Our service is not limited to transporting pets without their owners. Our private hire passenger service, known as VTC in France, also allows you to travel with your dog, cat or other companions.
You come along
You and your pets
You stay together during the journey. A saloon car can accommodate up to 3 passengers and a van up to 6, subject to the space needed for pets, carriers and luggage.
We take care of the journey
Your pet without you
Unable to travel yourself? We can arrange transport for your pet without you. We agree on the collection point, any useful instructions and the person who will receive your pet at the destination.
A couple with two dogs, a family with a cat and suitcases, or a pet to collect from boarding accommodation: each situation needs a different set-up. We choose the vehicle to suit everyone and everything travelling.
TAV training
Training in the transport of live animals
Our company’s pet transport service is supported by TAV training — Transport d’animaux vivants, or live animal transport. This training complements our experience of transporting dogs, cats and their owners.
We plan your pet’s space, protective coverings and suitable equipment. Pet hair is something to anticipate when welcoming animals, so we provide seat covers for their journey.
When booking, please tell us whether you will be travelling with your pet. The “pet only” option is for transport without an accompanying owner. Find out more about our pet taxi service in Paris.
Which transport suits your situation?
A vet appointment
For a veterinary appointment, choose a journey planned in advance with our team. The outward journey may only be part of what you need. Would you like to stay for the consultation? Should we arrange waiting time or a separate return trip? We can discuss these options when booking your transport to the vet.
Tell us whether you are travelling with your pet and mention any difficulties getting them into the vehicle or settled for the journey. If your pet needs medical care during transport, ask the clinic which type of transport is appropriate first.
A transfer to Roissy-CDG, Orly or a train station
For a station or airport, we recommend booking your transfer with our service. After a flight, finding a car is only part of the challenge: passengers, suitcases and pet carriers all need to fit. We plan your pet airport transfers with the full amount of luggage and equipment in mind.
Continuing your journey by train? We also provide transfers to Paris train stations. The meeting point and pick-up time should be agreed before departure.
Several pets or a large dog
Two dogs and a cat need a different arrangement from a small pet in a carrier. How well the animals get along, their sizes and the dimensions of their crates matter just as much as their number. A van may be the right option when you are travelling as a family or with plenty of luggage.
A large airline crate can also take up considerable space when empty. Let us know if it can be dismantled so we can take that into account when planning the load.
A long-distance journey
Holidays, moving home or collecting a pet: we arrange long-distance pet transport, with or without the owner. The route, breaks and your companion’s needs should be discussed beforehand.
Booking a specialist journey gives you the opportunity to discuss these details before departure day. Availability and travel arrangements are confirmed as part of organising the transport.

Before you book your pet taxi
Can I travel with my pet in your taxi?
Yes. Our private hire passenger service allows people to travel with their pets. Tell us the number of travellers, the luggage and any pet carriers so we can choose a suitable vehicle configuration.
Can you transport my pet if I cannot come along?
Yes. We can arrange transport for your pet without you, with an agreed collection point, any useful instructions and a contact at the destination. Select the option for a pet travelling without its owner.
Can I book for several dogs or cats?
Yes, once we have checked the space required and how the animals will travel. Tell us how many pets you have, the size of any dogs and how much room their carriers need. We will recommend a suitable vehicle.
Does my dog have to travel in a crate?
The arrangements depend on your pet and the vehicle. A dog may be able to travel with a suitable restraint system; please bring an appropriately sized, closed carrier for your cat. Tell us what you need when booking.
Can you wait during a vet appointment?
Waiting time or a return journey can be discussed, depending on our schedule. Mention this in your request so we can explain the arrangements and the relevant fare.
Do guide or assistance dogs need Uber Pet?
No. Uber’s French policy on guide and assistance dogs (in French) prohibits refusals and additional charges because of their presence. They are covered by different rules from pets, and Uber Pet is not required. At Taxi Animalier Paris, we also welcome passengers travelling with their guide or assistance dog.
Do you transport other small pets?
We can discuss transport for other companion animals, such as rabbits or guinea pigs. Tell us the species and provide a suitable, closed and ventilated carrier.
