G7 with a pet or specialist pet transport: which should you choose?

These are not two services that need to be set against each other. A G7 taxi offering the pet option may suit a journey with an owner and their companion. Specialist pet transport may be relevant when the arrangements depend on the exact volume of a crate, the number of animals, the luggage or collection without the owner.

The absence of public information means neither an automatic refusal nor automatic acceptance. For a specific requirement, ask the relevant service to confirm.

How do you book a G7 taxi with a pet?

G7 presents this option under the official French name “Animal de compagnie à bord”. If you are searching for “G7 Pet”, this is the wording to look for when booking. You must declare the animal before collection.

1. In the G7 Taxi app: select the “Animal de compagnie à bord” option during the booking process.
2. On G7.fr: select the same wording under “Options”.
3. By phone: explain your request on 3607. The help page consulted states €0.45/min plus the cost of the call.

G7 dog, G7 cat and G7 exotic pets: preparing for the journey

G7 taxi with a dog: small, large or crated

G7 states that dogs are accepted with the dedicated option. Preparation then depends on the animal’s actual size. A small dog in a carrier, a 30 kg dog secured with suitable equipment and a large dog in a rigid crate do not require the same amount of space.

State the breed or type, approximate weight and carrier dimensions. Keep the lead accessible for the walk to the vehicle. For a regulated-category dog in France, mention this in your request and prepare the muzzle and applicable documents. If the animal is elderly, recovering from treatment or has reduced mobility, also explain what help it needs to get into the vehicle.

G7 taxi with a cat: rigid carrier or soft-sided bag

Cats are among the animals mentioned by G7. Use a closed, ventilated carrier suited to your cat’s size. You can provide the dimensions of an S or M crate or a soft-sided bag designed for transport. Keep your cat inside it when moving around the vehicle, and do not open the carrier in the street, at a station or in an airport terminal.

With our service, a car can accommodate up to four small cat carriers in certain configurations. This capacity must always be checked against the dimensions of every carrier, the seats required by passengers and the luggage. Four carriers and three adults do not automatically make a feasible load.

G7 NAC: which exotic pets are covered?

G7 mentions certain exotic pets, referred to in France as NAC, but the official help page consulted does not provide a precise list. For a rabbit, ferret, rodent, bird or another exotic pet, state the species, number of animals, cage type and dimensions, then obtain confirmation. Ventilation, temperature and restraint requirements vary by species.

Several dogs, several cats or a mixed group

The official help page consulted does not specify a maximum number of animals for a G7 journey. You should therefore count every crate, carrier, suitcase, possible pushchair and item of pet equipment. Which vehicle suits your pet, its crate and your luggage?

The animal’s weight alone is not enough. To determine whether everything will fit, four details are needed: the animal, its carrier or crate, the passengers and the luggage. A large assembled crate takes up a fixed volume, and it must also fit through the boot or cargo-door opening.

The following table describes only the options available through our private-hire/VTC and specialist pet transport service. It does not describe the capacity of G7 vehicles. Every configuration remains subject to the actual dimensions and our team’s approval.

The maximum passenger capacity can never simply be added to a large crate. A van advertised for six people may not necessarily accommodate six people, an XXL crate and numerous pieces of luggage at the same time. Feasibility depends on the complete load.

Airport, station, vet or long-distance journey: what should you plan?

Paris Charles de Gaulle, Orly, Le Bourget and other airports

For a journey to or from an airport, provide the flight number, terminal, time, passenger count, checked and cabin luggage, and the dimensions of all carriers and crates. A passenger-terminal arrival and a collection from an airport cargo area require different meeting points and arrangements.

Gare de Lyon, Gare du Nord, Montparnasse and other stations

Provide the train number, time and agreed exit. Include the animal, its carrier, any children and every suitcase in your count, and allow time to reach the platform. Veterinary appointment, hospital admission or return journey

Explain whether the animal can walk, must remain in its carrier, is recovering or has difficulty getting into a car. A one-way journey, waiting time and a separate return journey all require different arrangements. Our service provides transport and is not an ambulance or a medically equipped veterinary service. Unaccompanied animal

The G7 help page about pets does not state whether a dog, cat or exotic pet can travel without a passenger. You should therefore infer neither automatic acceptance nor refusal: ask G7 for direct confirmation.

Our service can arrange transport for an animal travelling alone when booked in advance. We agree who will hand over and receive the animal, their contact details, the instructions, carrier and access at the destination. This arrangement may be suitable for a vet, groomer, boarding facility, foster family or house move.
