Some drivers may agree to carry an animal, but the French documents reviewed for this guide do not describe a dedicated “Heetch Pet” category. Tell the driver about your pet and check its weight, carrier and the vehicle before relying on the ride.

There is an important distinction: Heetch’s French terms say a driver may cancel if an animal weighs more than 8 kg or is not in a cage. This does not mean an animal under 8 kg in a cage is automatically accepted. Here is how to prepare a Heetch ride with a dog, cat or exotic pet, and when a prebooked pet transport service may be more suitable.

Heetch pets: what the official rules say

Heetch’s French terms and conditions list an animal weighing over 8 kg or not placed in a cage among the situations in which a driver may cancel the pickup. This is a possible cancellation, not a promise that all other arrangements will be accepted. The terms also mention insufficient vehicle capacity for passengers or luggage.

The Heetch passenger help article recommends calling the driver to mention a pet and confirm their agreement. It says an uncaged animal may be refused by a driver who does not accept pets. It also distinguishes guide dogs, which, according to that help article, must be accepted in every vehicle.

Is there a “Heetch Pet” option?

“Heetch Pet” is a natural search if you know Uber Pet or Bolt Pet. The French official pages reviewed here discuss animals through driver contact and cancellation conditions; they do not present a dedicated Pet category. Check the options actually shown in your app, as services can change, and do not assume an ordinary ride automatically accepts pets.

This matters particularly before a flight or vet appointment: agreement in advance can avoid discovering at pickup that the animal or its carrier will not fit.

1. Enter your journey in the app and review the vehicles, price and applicable conditions.
2. Once a driver is assigned, contact them through the offered channel, particularly by phone as Heetch help recommends, to announce the pet.
3. Give the species, weight, number of animals, type of cage and its outside dimensions.
4. Add the number of passengers, suitcases and bulky items such as a stroller, assembled crate or medical equipment.
5. Ask explicitly whether the driver accepts the whole arrangement and whether the vehicle has enough space.

If the pet, carrier or luggage changes, tell the driver again. Agreement for one cat in a small carrier does not automatically cover a large dog or two IATA crates.

Heetch with a dog: small and large dogs

For a small dog, weigh it and describe its carrier. Even below 8 kg and in a cage, acceptance still needs to be checked with the driver. If you use a soft bag, describe it rather than assuming it counts as a cage under the terms.

For a large dog, the 8 kg threshold in the terms creates an explicit cancellation risk even if the dog is calm. A cage does not remove the weight issue. Confirm its size, how it will travel and the available space before relying on Heetch.

Heetch with a cat: which carrier?

Choose a closed, ventilated carrier suitable for your cat. Keep the door securely locked while waiting outside and during the ride. Note its outside dimensions and secure it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

The cat’s weight says little about how much space its carrier takes. If three people and several suitcases are travelling, give the driver the full load. Heetch help asks you to call about the animal, including a usually calm cat.

Heetch exotic pets: rabbit, ferret, bird or reptile?

The French documents reviewed do not set out a species-by-species policy for exotic pets. Rabbits, ferrets, birds and reptiles have different needs for ventilation, temperature and secure transport. Do not infer automatic acceptance from the 8 kg rule.

If you search for “Heetch exotic pets”, state the exact species, weight and type of enclosure. Get the driver’s agreement for this ride and make sure the enclosure cannot open or tip. A prebooked pet transport service can assess a sensitive animal’s needs before departure.

Heetch pets with an XL or XXL crate and luggage: will it fit?

Measure the crate’s outside length, width and height, including attached wheels. XL, XXL and XXXL labels vary by maker. Say whether the crate will be assembled, how many seats you need and how much hold or cabin luggage you have.

Heetch’s terms also cite luggage exceeding vehicle capacity as a possible cancellation reason. A driver may agree to your dog but discover that an assembled crate and four suitcases will not fit in the boot. Have the entire load confirmed.
